- Social Security's one-time death benefit

Most families cover the difference from savings meant for something else, by asking relatives, or with a funeral home payment plan arranged in the worst week of their lives.
We know, because we're the ones at the table when that happens.

The Assist Program
Paid for is half the job. Handled is the other half.
Burial insurance makes sure the money is there. The Assist Program makes sure everything else is in order — the will, the beneficiaries, the accounts — and that a real person handles the paperwork when the time comes.
Before
We sit with you and get it organized: where the will is, who's named on what, which accounts and benefits exist. If something's missing — no will, no power of attorney — we help you get it done with a Georgia estate attorney.
After
Your family gets a dedicated Family Care Advisor who claims the benefits, closes or transfers the accounts, stops the junk mail and the calls, and stays until the list is finished.
What it is, in one breath
Burial insurance, plainly.
A small whole life insurance policy — usually $5,000 to $25,000 — that pays cash directly to the person you choose. Your rate doesn't go up. The policy doesn't expire. Most people qualify, including with health conditions. It's also called funeral insurance or final expense life insurance; same thing.
Rates, coverage and qualification depend on age, health and the carrier. Your agent confirms the details of any policy before you apply.
Who this is for
- You're 50–85 and don't want your kids guessing.
- You have life insurance, but it's a term policy, or it's through an old employer, or it's already spoken for.
- You're the daughter or son who just realized nobody has talked about this.
- Your paperwork is in six places and your kids don't know where any of them are.

Same people, same promise.
Leaf Cremation started in Acworth to make a hard day simpler and less expensive. Leaf Planning exists because we kept meeting families who had planned everything except how it would be paid for. Same people, same promise: simple, honest, and no surprises.

Common questions
What is burial insurance?
Burial insurance is a small whole life insurance policy that pays your family in days. Coverage is usually $5,000 to $25,000, and the money is paid directly to the person you choose. Most people use it for the funeral or cremation, but it can go toward anything. There is no medical exam, just a few health questions on the phone. On the whole life policies we offer, your rate stays the same and the policy lasts your whole life. Read the full explanation.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your age, health, tobacco use and how much coverage you choose. As typical ranges only: many people in their 60s pay roughly $30 to $70 a month for $10,000 of coverage, and many people in their 70s pay roughly $45 to $110. These aren't quotes. A licensed Georgia agent will give you exact prices on the call, based on the carriers available to you. See typical costs.
Do I need a medical exam?
No. There's no medical exam, no needles and no nurse visit, just a few health questions your agent asks on the phone. Your answers decide which type of policy you qualify for. If you don't qualify for a policy with full coverage from day one, there are other options, including guaranteed acceptance policies with no health questions. Those always come with a waiting period of usually two to three years before the full benefit is payable, and they cost more per dollar of coverage.
